CTE’s personalized
career development solution, called Sea Warrior,
integrates Manpower, Personnel, and Training
organizations (MPT), into a single, efficient,
information-rich human resource management
system. Its focus is on growing individuals
using a career continuum of training and education
that gives them the tools they need to operate
in an increasingly demanding and dynamic environment.
This solution was given to the Navy, through
which the Detailers could identify a sailor’s
precise capabilities and match them to well-articulated
job requirements that far exceed the simplistic
criteria used today. Besides this the Navy
also implemened different types of incentives
and flexible rotation dates and move the Navy
toward a job-based compensation system. The
career roadmap is customized for the individual
sailor to track their individual progress
in five basic career dimensions known as the
5VM, – Professional Development, Personal
Development, Leadership, Performance and Certifications
and Qualifications. Thus allowing them to
know how they stack up in their jobs and obtain
guidance for the future.
Also, it gives access to online training system,
access to data that can be used as a resume
to find jobs that best fit an individual's
knowledge and skills. Features like Career
Mapper and Learning Path recommends the best-fit
career path, alternate career path and details
of completed learning events. The solution
even allows sailors to request mentors, supervisors
can view and track their subordinates career
progress and recommend courses and future
jobs thus give better counseling. |
