- Monitoring and tuning production
environment utilizing OEM, AWR reports
- Applying patches and upgrades, Migrating
from lower versions of oracle to higher
versions
- Managing databases structure and
storage allocation and sizing future
requirement of the database
- Performing database backups and
recovery using RMAN or any third party
tools. Writing scripts for hot backups,
logical backups
- Identifying and defining partitions
on Large tables and Materialized Views
- Tuning SQL queries and PL/SQL packages
for optimal performance and tuning
memory structures
- Creation of users, assigning and
revoking roles, privileges etc
- Writing Unix shell scripts as and
when required for automation of various
DBA tasks
- Resolution of day-to-day related
issues, document all Oracle DBA routine
tasks
- Troubleshoot Oracle errors with
the help of Alert file and logs; raise
TARs with Oracle support for quick
resolution of issues
- Configure Standby Databases using
Dataguard, Streams etc
- Basic Knowledge in Oracle RAC and
ASM storage is desired
