and reduce the costs of small parcel and LTL
shipping operations.
Challenges
The challenge was to develop a solution
which would not only support air carriers
but support motor freight carriers and any
carrier with electronic invoicing capabilities.
The solution had to support the following
carriers: Airborne Express, FedEx (FedEx Express
and FedEx Ground), and United Parcel Service
(UPS). They chose CTE because of our vast
experience, quality, and affordability.
Solution
CTE came up with an intuitive application
that allows companies to achieve significant
cost reductions by analyzing their carrier-parcel
operations. Customers can obtain
reimbursement of overcharges and avoid unnecessary costs
through identification of procedural, destination,
weight, and dimensional errors. The application's
accessible information permits corporations
to determine reliable carriers, requesting
refunds and negotiating better shipping rates.
Cost savings, coupled with management’s
improved insight into shipping processes and
billing efficiencies, provide immediate and
measurable benefits to the customers.
The application audits the
discrepancies between shipping manifest data
and carrier data. This audit function provides companies with
the ability to migrate to electronic billing,
cross-reference billing data and internal
shipping manifest systems to identify potential
over charges, and monitor for improperly processed
packages. Customers are provided with the
ability to track packages from multiple carriers
through one unified online interface. Packages
can be tracked from the time the order is
entered until the package is delivered and the system produces automated notices of delivery
failures or other exceptions.
