| Main Street America Group chooses Cambridge
Technology Enterprises to standardize information processes |
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - June 19, 2003 - Cambridge
Technology Enterprises (CTE) Inc., a leader in collaborative business innovation
services that accelerate the deployment of enterprise applications, has
been selected by Main Street America Group to centralize and standardize
customer and company information and automate data collection and analysis.
This solution will provide a platform for the company to create new business
opportunities, improve customer service and satisfaction, and increase profitability.
Main Street America Group (MSA), with headquarters in Jacksonville, FL and
Keene, NH, provides insurance products and services in 16 eastern states,
writing more than $700 million in premiums each year through its property
and casualty insurance companies, National Grange Mutual, Old Dominion Insurance,
and Main Street America Assurance. The Independent Insurance Agent is the
sole distribution channel of MSA Group’s insurance and bond products.
MSA’s goals are to consolidate data that has been spread among a mainframe,
various databases, Excel spreadsheets, and paper. This system caused employees
to spend an inordinate amount of time trying to retrieve and analyze data
and often prevented them from capturing necessary information. In addition,
variations in practices among regions meant that staff often had to collect
and re-enter information for analysis.
Cambridge Technology Enterprises’s technology and business experts
are meeting this challenge by creating “Agency Management @ the Desktop”.
It will improve information flow and collaboration throughout the company.
Because MSA distributes its products through a network of more than 1100
independent insurance agents, the company plans to extend the system to
their agents, helping them grow and manage their business with greater efficiencies.
MSA began the project by participating in Cambridge Technology Enterprises’s
well-known Cambridge Executive Workshop, an intensive three-week program
where corporate executives and staff collaborate to identify new ideas and
move them to deployment. During the Workshop, MSA set goals to improve the
data management system and find a means to better leverage the company’s
core business knowledge and customer experience in order to create growth
and profitability opportunities.
The new system devised by MSA and Cambridge Technology Enterprises will
give MSA a clear view of all agencies and their loss ratio and growth and
retention indicators. The company predicts improvements in loss ratios,
growth, retention, and efficiency, because of the technology innovation
offered by Cambridge Technology Enterprises. “Cambridge
Technology Enterprises has helped us develop much more than a technology
solution,” explained Kelly Stacy, Senior Vice President of Marketing
and Field Operations of Main Street America Group. “The Workshop allowed
us to see that we could use this for more than managing data flow. The system
that Cambridge Technology Enterprises will help us develop should increase
customer satisfaction, create new marketing opportunities, and increase
profitability for our customers, and us” -
Stacy said. About Cambridge Technology
