“When they first told us
about architecture mapping, I didn’t believe
that it would reduce the duplication and the connection
points. But when I saw their engine in action,
I had to believe it. CTE helped us clearly visualize
these innovative solutions through rapidly built
prototypes. They even exceeded our expectations
by defining a clear roadmap of all the key applications
and data points. The CTE experience has been a
very rewarding exercise for our company and is
highly appreciated…”
This reaction from the team of a life sciences
major reinforces the huge business advantages
of SOA-based technologies and solutions. Using
Oracle Fusion and Oracle Data Warehouse Suite,
CTE is helping the pharma major build a business
intelligence solution to transform their research
systems.
The company produces a line of nutritional products
and has been changing their approach to creating
cures through diet. Or course, their transformation
is not without challenges. The terabytes of data
produced in past and current research can’t
be managed with existing information systems.
To succeed in their effort, the company needed
sophisticated new data collection and discovery
tools.
The company chose CTE to provide a complete end-to-end
hosted solution consisting of new dedicated operational
systems to manage the research data. CTE's SOA-based
solution is built on Oracle Fusion, leveraging
its Portal, BPEL, SSO, OID, 10G AS, Database,
and Enterprise Manager. SOA Integration is also
used to connect these systems to their existing
disparate array of information management systems
that had been built on Sybase, MS-Access, Oracle,
and text files. CTE's solution also includes a
data warehouse, built using Oracle 10g Warehouse
Builder and Oracle Discoverer, to manage the terabytes
of data generated each year in their scientific
studies. This complete solution of dedicated operational
systems and a data warehouse provides the company
with the sophisticated tools they needed for data
mining, analysis, and discovery. They're now more
agile and more prepared to face the challenges
and opportunities of the future.
